Job summary

Apunipima Cape York Health Council in Cairns, QLD, is seeking a Project Coordinator to lead the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Suicide Prevention Education and Training project across Cape York communities.

You will bring a Diploma in Community Services or related field with 3+ years in social and community services, and hold a Blue Card, QLD drivers licence, and be prepared for a police check.

Qualifications

• Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing to obtain prior to commencement.
• Current Queensland Drivers Licence.
• National Police Check within the last 3 months or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement.
• Demonstrated experience of more than 3 years in social and community services, preferably with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
• Experience in suicide prevention, social and emotional wellbeing, mental health or community development programs.
• Experience developing and implementing projects including community engagement, documentation, monitoring and evaluating.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Suicide Prevention Education and Training project across participating Cape York communities.
• Engage with communities to support project activities and build capacity.
• Prepare and manage project documentation, monitoring and evaluation activities.

Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health service. Servicing the communities of Cape York, with the main office located in Cairns, Apunipima delivers public health care, and social and emotional well-being programs to community members. Being a part of the team at Apunipima means helping us deliver essential services as well as building capacity in communities to manage their own health care needs.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Suicide Prevention Education and Training project across participating Cape York communities.

Pre-employment screening for vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases will be conducted for the successful applicant.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement

• Diploma qualification in Community Services, Mental Health, Project Management or discipline relevant to the position

• Experience working in suicide prevention, social and emotional wellbeing, mental health or community development programs
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing projects including community engagement, preparing project documentation, monitoring and evaluating projects
