The Queensland Mental Health Commission is seeking an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander professional to join the Mental Health and Wellbeing Reform Team as Principal Project Officer, Social and Emotional Wellbeing (Identified).
Working with the Program Lead, you will manage projects and support reform initiatives to improve outcomes in mental health, alcohol and other drugs, lived-living experience and suicide prevention.
The role requires experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, project and contract management, policy development, co-design and stakeholder engagement, ideally within health, human services, community or justice sectors. Strong facilitation, negotiation, analytical and written communication skills are essential.
Reporting to the Program Manager, you will collaborate across the Commission to deliver integrated reform projects.
This role is an identified role under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
People with lived and living experience of mental health challenges, harms related to alcohol and other drug use, those affected by suicide, and their families, kin and unpaid carers, are strongly encouraged to apply.
