Job summary

Newmont Tanami mine in the Northern Territory is seeking a seasoned Superintendent, Project Controls to lead the site-based team and ensure cost control, planning, scheduling and governance across the Sustaining Capital portfolio.

Reporting to the Manager, Sustaining Capital, you will drive performance reporting, risk management and continuous improvement while upholding safety and regulatory standards on a FIFO roster.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Accounting, or related discipline.
• At least 7 years mining industry experience including project controls support to a Tier 1 operation.
• Experience across cost control, planning and scheduling, forecasting, reporting, risk management and change control.
• Ability to lead and develop Project Controls teams and drive governance, performance and continuous improvement.
• Strong understanding of Health, Safety, Environmental and regulatory requirements for mining.
• Excellent stakeholder management and portfolio reporting skills.
• Full and unrestricted eligibility to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the site-based Project Controls team and ensure delivery of cost control, planning and scheduling, estimating, forecasting, reporting and governance activities.
• Provide project controls leadership and assurance across the Sustaining Capital portfolio and drive transparency for informed decision-making.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers, Supervisors, Operations, Technical Services, Health & Safety, Procurement and other stakeholders.
• Oversee project costs and schedule performance; ensure estimates, forecasts, schedules and progress reporting are accurate and aligned with stage-gate requirements.
• Facilitate project risk and change management processes and develop mitigation strategies with governance controls.
• Lead monthly portfolio reporting and provide insights on performance, trends, risks, opportunities and capex to site and senior leadership.
• Ensure project control systems and reporting comply with QA, document control, procurement and governance.
• Drive continuous improvement across project control processes, systems and reporting capabilities.
• Provide visible safety leadership and uphold Newmont's safety culture on-site.
