Job summary

Dimensional Fund Advisors is seeking an experienced Compliance professional to support the Compliance & Risk function in delivering the annual Compliance Plan review and related projects. The role involves strengthening the control environment, implementing regulatory changes, and improving processes and reporting.

The candidate will oversee gaps, drive efficiency, and collaborate with senior management, directors, clients and stakeholders to ensure robust compliance across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of experience in compliance or related role at a fund manager or investment management business.
• Good working knowledge of Corporations Act and ASIC Regulatory Guides.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven experience balancing commercial considerations with risk and governance.

This role is to support the Compliance & Risk function in delivering the annual Compliance Plan review, strengthening the control environment, implementing key regulatory and compliance projects and improving existing processes and operational efficiencies.

This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Key Responsibilities

1. Compliance Plan & Control Improvements

• Assist with the delivery of the annual Compliance Plan review.
• Review and enhance existing compliance controls, procedures and monitoring activities.
• Identify control gaps and opportunities to strengthen the compliance framework.
• Support the implementation and tracking improvement initiatives.

2. Compliance Projects & Delivery

• Coordinate and deliver assigned compliance and regulatory projects within agreed timeframes.
• Support the implementation of regulatory changes, including updates to policies, procedures and controls.

3. Process & Operational Improvements

• Review existing compliance processes to identify opportunities for simplification and efficiency.
• Develop and implement practical improvements to compliance workflows, documentation and reporting.
• Improve consistency, effectiveness and efficiency of compliance activities.

4. Ongoing Compliance Support

• Assist with compliance monitoring, incident management, regulatory reporting and governance activities.
• Undertake ad hoc compliance activities and research.

Key Skills & Experience

• At least seven years experience in compliance or a related role at a Responsible Entity, Fund Manager or Investment Management business.
• Good working knowledge of the regulatory obligations of a Responsible Entity, most notably the relevant obligations contained within the Corporations Act and ASIC Regulatory Guides.
• Experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven experience balancing commercial considerations with reputational and legal risk.
• Exceptional communicator and a natural ability to effectively engage with senior management, directors, clients and other external stakeholders.
• Strong work ethic and ability to demonstrate initiative, personal integrity and act as a mentor to junior members of the team.
• Ambitious self-starter who is capable of rapidly learning key elements of the business, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
