Job summary

BlueFin is seeking a hands-on Project Accountant to join the finance team in Western Australia. With 3–4 years of accounting experience, you will own payroll, month-end processes and project profitability reporting while partnering with operations.

You will work closely with the Financial Controller, gaining exposure to WIP, budgets, BAS and year-end activities in a growing construction environment. A proactive, detail-oriented mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting or finance.
• 3–4 years+ accounting experience, construction or project-based industry preferred.
• Demonstrated end-to-end payroll experience (STP, superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax).
• Solid reconciliations and month-end reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end journals, reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Manage WIP calculations and project profitability reporting.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts and monthly management reporting.
• Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll, including STP, PAYG and payroll tax.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
• Prepare BAS, IAS, FBT and other statutory compliance.
• Support year-end financial statements and external audits.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
