Job description

Want a better career, a real team and an employer you trust?

Get it done at M2P

M2P was built to do engineering differently: to think smarter, challenge what is expected and deliver complex projects with pride. That approach has taken us from a growing business to a recognised leader in structural, mechanical and piping construction across Australia.

Today, we deliver major SMP projects in some of the country’s most demanding industries and operating environments, including underground mining and heavy industry. Our growth has never changed what matters most—our people. We value experience, trust our people and bring together skilled teams that take genuine pride in delivering quality work.

This is your opportunity to take ownership of meaningful work with a successful Australian business, where your expertise will be respected, your contribution will be visible and you will have the support to deliver.

With several newly awarded projects underway and a strong pipeline ahead, we are looking for an experienced Contract Administrator to join our Energy, Oil & Gas division.

Based in our Spring Hill head office Monday to Friday, you will provide commercial and contractual support across two significant projects: Snowy Hydro’s Tumut 1 Machine Hall Roof Replacement and Stabilisation Project and a surface buildings drainage package being delivered for the Future Generation Joint Venture as part of Snowy 2.0.

This is a hands-on position suited to an experienced Contract Administrator who is confident managing progress claims, variations, contractual compliance, commercial reporting and risk throughout the project lifecycle.

You will have the opportunity to take genuine ownership of your responsibilities, work directly with experienced commercial and project leaders, and play an important role in protecting the commercial position of both projects.

While the position is based in our Spring Hill office Monday to Friday, occasional travel to the project sites will be required, likely for a few days each month. This will allow you to build strong relationships with the site teams and client while gaining a better understanding of the projects you are supporting.

Your opportunity

Contract Administrator

M2P Engineering

Brisbane, Queensland > Spring Hill

M2P has been awarded the Tumut 1 Machine Hall Roof Replacement and Stabilisation Project for Snowy Hydro.

Located approximately 370 metres underground, the project includes fabrication, dismantling existing infrastructure and installing new permanent walkways and water-shedding structures.

Procurement and pre-mobilisation activities are underway, with project delivery continuing through to August 2027.

M2P is also delivering a surface buildings drainage package for the Future Generation Joint Venture across the Snowy 2.0 project.

The scope includes the supply, installation and testing of complete drainage systems across several buildings and project areas at the Talbingo and Tantangara intakes. This includes sanitary drainage, trade waste, oil and water separation, stormwater, vent pipework, and pad and subsoil drainage.

The project will continue through to February 2028.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Preparing, reviewing and administering progress claims involving clients, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Ensuring claims are accurate, appropriately supported and submitted in accordance with contractual requirements
  • Preparing and issuing variations, quotations, change orders and associated contractual correspondence
  • Assessing variations in scope and value and ensuring contractual notice requirements are met
  • Managing contracts from initial project set-up through to administration, amendments and closeout
  • Monitoring contractual obligations, deliverables, milestones and key dates
  • Supporting subcontract administration, procurement activities and purchase order management
  • Maintaining contract registers, commercial records, correspondence and supporting documentation
  • Monitoring outstanding, approved and disputed claims and providing clear reporting to project stakeholders
  • Identifying potential commercial and contractual risks and raising them with the project and commercial teams
  • Supporting the resolution of payment issues, contractual disputes and claims
  • Contributing to project meetings and providing updates on commercial matters, risks and required actions
  • Supporting improvements to contract administration processes, systems and reporting
  • Assisting with project closeout, final accounts and the completion of contractual deliverables

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you will be commercially aware, highly organised and confident working directly with project teams, clients, subcontractors and senior stakeholders.

You will be comfortable working across two complex projects, balancing competing priorities and maintaining close attention to contractual requirements, deadlines and commercial outcomes. You will take ownership of your responsibilities, raise risks early and provide clear, practical advice that helps project teams make informed decisions.

You will also bring a collaborative and solutions‑focused approach. This role will suit someone who can build trusted working relationships, communicate confidently and remain composed when navigating challenging claims, variations or contractual matters.

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Demonstrated contract administration experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, energy or a related project environment
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, progress claims, variations, change orders and payment schedules
  • Experience administering client, subcontractor and supplier claims
  • The ability to interpret contract terms and translate requirements into practical actions for project teams
  • A sound understanding of Australian security of payment legislation and contractual compliance requirements
  • Experience identifying discrepancies, commercial risks and potential contractual exposure
  • Strong written communication skills, including preparing formal contractual correspondence
  • Confidence working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve commercial and contractual matters
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and project requirements
  • Proficiency using contract management, ERP or document control systems
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management, quantity surveying, commercial management, law, engineering or a related discipline

Experience working for a contractor across structural, mechanical, piping, civil or major infrastructure projects will be highly regarded. Experience with systems such as IFS, Procore, Aconex or SharePoint would also be advantageous.

In this role, you will work closely with experienced leaders, contribute to significant projects and have the opportunity to strengthen your commercial experience across complex construction environments.

Why M2P Engineering?

We’ve come a long way since starting out in 2017.

Right from the beginning, we brought a different approach to engineering construction in the mining, industrial and marine sectors. A better way, built on smarter thinking and real care – about the job, the client and the team.

First, we punched above our weight. Now, we’re up there, toe to toe with the biggest and oldest in the industry. And we’re proud to compete and win.

M2P is now entering another exciting period of growth. Alongside our newly awarded Snowy projects, we are delivering major work across mining, energy and industrial environments throughout Australia, with further opportunities developing across new regions, sectors and clients.

So, what can you expect from a career with us?

  • Work. The way it should be. We take pride in quality work, completed to spec and on time. Things can’t always go according to plan, of course, but we’re proud to exceed expectations and deliver on what we promise.
  • Your career. The way it should be. With so many interesting projects to get stuck into, there’s ongoing work and a stable future here. Just give it a solid go, do the job well, and we’ll look after you.
  • A real team. The way it should be. You’ll work shoulder to shoulder with an honest, reliable and respectful team. We’re mates looking after mates, and when the going gets tough, that’s when we step up for you the most.

You’ll also enjoy a range of other benefits:

  • Genuine ownership of commercial and contractual responsibilities across two complex projects
  • Working from M2P’s brand-new, modern Spring Hill head office
  • Confidential wellbeing support through our Employee Assistance Program
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression

If you are an experienced Contract Administrator looking to take ownership of meaningful commercial responsibilities across complex construction projects while remaining based in Brisbane, we would be interested in hearing from you.
