Job summary

The Queensland Government is seeking a Program Delivery Officer (Level 1) in the Townsville region to deliver approved general and sexual offending programs to offenders requiring intervention. This is a permanent full-time position within the Psychology, Counselling & Social Work pathway.

The role requires tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, education or behavioural sciences, plus training in STATIC-99 and STABLE-2000.

Qualifications

• tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, education or behavioural sciences preferred; other Bachelor degrees may be considered
• Membership or affiliation with a relevant professional association will be highly regarded
• PDO specialising in the delivery of sexual offending programs with training in STATIC-99 and STABLE-2000 to allocate offenders to appropriate treatment

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning activities to ensure offenders have timely access to appropriate programs and interventions
• Prepare offenders for offender intervention programs
• Deliver offender intervention programs in accordance with operational plans
• Provide advice to relevant officers regarding offender program suitability and/or other interventions
• Monitor progress of offenders during programs and related activities and report on progress
• Comply with program management procedures, standards and guidelines
• Identify and respond to risks arising from offender management
• Maintain knowledge of contemporary offender programs research and practices, and legislation, policy and procedures
• Participate in case management activities as required for offenders assessed as requiring program participation
• Provide timely information to relevant sites in relation to each offender's participation in programs for case management
• Monitor offender management files and programs for continuity and consistency
• Ensure records for the Integrated Offender Management system (IOMS) are current
• Administer appropriate assessments to offenders
• Analyse assessment results and record information
• Contribute to case management and sentence management activities for offenders
• Ensure maintenance of records for IOMS and OPAS are accurate and current
• Provide advice to courts, boards and agencies regarding offenders
• Provide program impact reports to courts and parole boards for participants
• Promote offender programs to services and community
• Develop productive relationships with service providers and community to enhance community regard for offender programs
