Job summary

Esperance SHS is seeking an energetic, innovative leader to take up the position of Student Services Program Coordinator commencing Term 1, 2027. You will work collaboratively with the Principal and leadership team to provide educational leadership within the school and the community, promoting learner success and shared ownership of the school's strategic direction.

The Role

Esperance SHS is seeking an energetic, innovative, and inspiring leader to take up the position of Student Services Program Coordinator commencing Term 1, 2027.

As a Program Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with the Principal and members of the school’s leadership team to provide educational leadership within the school and the community. You will develop and promote the school's vision for learner success and encourage school staff and school-community members to share ownership of the school’s strategic direction.

As a school committed to the Department’s Quality Teaching Strategy, the successful applicant will ideally be familiar with the Teaching for Impact Framework and understand what effective teachers believe, know and do to support student success.

The Program Coordinator – Student Services provides strategic leadership within the Student Services team, working closely with Year Coordinators and Student Services staff to enhance student wellbeing and achievement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and delivering programs that support students across the school, in line with our Strategic Plan priorities. This includes promoting the school's Safe, Persistent, Achiever, Respectful, Kind (SPARK) behaviours, positive education, transition between phases of learning and implementing pastoral care programs
• Leading Student Services operations and line management of Year Coordinators and Student Support Staff.
• Overseeing the implementation of the school’s Positive Behaviour Support Guide, procedures and participation in the PBS Committee
• Promoting student health, wellbeing and pastoral care initiatives
• Liaising effectively with parents, government and non-government agencies

The successful applicant should display strong student-centred leadership, knowledge of student welfare policies and processes, and the capacity to apply and explain this knowledge in a variety of situations and to a range of audiences. Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills are essential.

Preferably, applicants should have (or have the capacity to develop) leadership experience that ensures all students are provided opportunities to achieve their desired pathway.
