Job summary

Berry Street Yooralla is seeking a Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner to join the Allied Health team in Victoria. The role focuses on delivering Positive Behaviour Support, managing a clinical caseload and developing robust behaviour support plans in line with NDIS requirements.

You will mentor developing practitioners, collaborate with families, carers and multidisciplinary teams, and champion human rights and inclusion in all aspects of practice.

Qualifications

• Experience as Proficient Practitioner under the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Framework.
• Strong PBS principles and human-rights based practice.
• Ability to complete high-quality assessments and develop practical, evidence-based support plans.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with participants, families and stakeholders.
• Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Genuine commitment to inclusion and empowering people with disability.

Responsibilities

• Manage a clinical caseload and deliver high-quality Positive Behaviour Support services.
• Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments to understand behaviours of concern and identify strategies to improve quality of life.
• Develop, implement and review Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans in line with NDIS requirements.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to help participants achieve goals and reduce behaviours of concern.
• Train and support families, carers and support teams to implement behaviour strategies.
• Monitor outcomes and evaluate behaviour support strategies, including reductions in restrictive practices.
• Provide supervision and mentoring to Core Behaviour Support Practitioners where appropriate.
• Champion human rights, choice, control and inclusion in practice.
