Job summary

CQUniversity Australia seeks an internationally recognised nursing scholar and academic leader to serve as Professor in Nursing within the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Sciences. You will drive teaching excellence, lead multidisciplinary research initiatives and shape strategic directions in nursing education and scholarship.

  • Academic Level E: Total Remuneration $247,655 pa (including salary of $209,272 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)

As a Professor in Nursing, you will provide exceptional academic leadership, driving excellence in teaching, research and industry engagement while shaping the strategic direction of nursing education and scholarship. You will lead multidisciplinary research initiatives, foster national and international collaborations, secure competitive research funding and contribute to the development of research and academic policy.

Working closely with colleagues, students and external stakeholders, you will mentor and develop academic staff, supervise higher degree by research candidates, and champion innovative, evidence-based learning experiences.

Position Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA and evidence of meeting NMBA Recency of Practice requirements.
  • Extensive academic, research and industry experience, with a distinguished record of achievement in nursing education and scholarship.
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams, mentoring academic staff and driving strategic teaching and research outcomes.
  • Distinguished research profile, evidenced by high-quality publications, successful supervision of Higher Degree by Research candidates and a strong record of competitive research funding success.
  • Established national and international standing in the profession, demonstrated through leadership, research collaboration and engagement with professional bodies and key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to influence the direction of nursing education, research and professional practice through strategic partnerships with industry, government and the broader community.
