Job summary

International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) is seeking a part-time Professional Placement Consultant (Graduate & Industry Engagement) to build and manage industry and alumni relationships and coordinate employability initiatives for students and graduates.

You will mentor students through professional placements and graduate opportunities, collaborating with employers and academic staff to enhance employability outcomes and industry connections.

Qualifications

• Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven business development skills and ability to build, maintain and develop strong external and internal relationships.
• Understanding of recruitment and placement processes, with an interest in supporting students to develop graduate employability skills.
• Understanding of work-integrated learning and its relevance to the required industries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare students for workplace transitions through readiness programs, including resume development, interview prep, branding, networking and career coaching.
• Manage graduate employment pathways by supporting students through recruitment cycles, assessments and employer engagement activities.
• Develop and maintain industry partnerships that create employment, internships, mentoring and experiential learning opportunities.
• Coordinate industry engagement initiatives, including employer presentations, networking events, industry days, masterclasses and alumni panels.
• Collaborate with academic staff to embed employability outcomes within curriculum and co-curricular learning experiences.
• Monitor and report on student placement and graduate outcomes with timely support and escalation for workplace-related matters.

The Professional Placement Consultant (Graduate & IndustryEngagement)isan integral member of the Employability team,andisresponsible forpreparing,mentoringand supporting students through professional placement and graduate opportunities, while developing strong industry and alumni partnerships that enhance student employability outcomes.

Working closely with students, employers,alumniand academic stakeholders, you will build and manage a portfolio of industry and alumni relationships,identifyplacement and graduate opportunities, coordinate employabilityinitiativesand events, and contribute to creating meaningful pathways from education to employment.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare students for successful workplace transitions through the delivery ofstudent/graduate readiness programs, including resume development, interview preparation, professional branding,networkingand career coaching.
• Manage graduate employment pathways by supporting students through graduate program recruitment cycles, application processes, assessments, employer engagementactivitiesand career planning.
• Develop andmaintainstrong industry partnerships that create employment, internship, mentoring and experiential learning opportunities for students and graduates.
• Coordinate industry engagement initiatives, including employer presentations, networking events, industry days, masterclasses, alumni panels,competitionsand case challenges.
• Facilitate student participation in employability-enhancing activities such as industry projects, awards programs,volunteering,professional developmentworkshopsand leadership opportunities.
• Build and grow alumni engagement programs to expand mentoring networks, graduate pathways, industryconnectionsand employer advocacy opportunities.
• Collaborate with academic staff to embed employability and graduate readiness outcomes within curriculum and co-curricular learning experiences.
• Monitor and report on student placement and graduate outcomes,maintainingaccuraterecords, analysingtrendsand providingtimelysupport and escalation for workplace-related matters.
• Maintain effective stakeholder management practices through theaccurateuse of CRM and LMS platforms, ensuring quality engagement records, reporting and communication with students,alumniand industry partners.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Work-Integrated Learning and Employability programs through project work, research, process enhancements, marketinginitiativesand representation at internal and external forums.

To be successful in this role, you should hold the following attributes:

• Degree qualified in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
