Endeavour Foundation is recruiting a Production Team Leader for our Oakleigh, Melbourne site. You will lead a disability-supported production team in a busy packaging environment, ensuring safe, efficient operations and strong team performance.

The role requires hands-on supervision, excellent communication, and a calm, organized approach. Forklift experience is desirable. This is a full-time fixed-term position based on-site in Oakleigh.

Job description

As a Production Team Leader, you will play a vital role in enhancing the opportunities of our employees with a disability, while ensuring commercial outcomes are achieved. With your natural ability to lead with empathy, you will oversee and guide employees that we support, to meet their employment goals, ensuring their work aligns with their skills while delivering exceptional production outcomes.

Based in our Oakleigh, Melbourne Site, you will be scheduled to work Mondays to Fridays 8.00am to 4pm, full-time position, fixed term for 12monts. You will be a hands-on leader in our commercial packing & labelling services whilst providing oversight and supervision to our supported employees that work hard on our production floor to packaging products including rice, spices and cereals for our local business partners within the community. You will work within a large team of production workers including disability supported employees and various other leaders and coaches. Our ideal applicant will hold experience working in the production packaging environment and with clear and open communication skills to lead our disability employees. Forklift licence desirable but not essential.

This is a hands-on, floor-based role coordinating daily pick packing and production. The Production Team Leader sets up lines, allocates work across small teams, trains and supports team members, completes production and food safety paperwork, monitors targets and steps into production when needed.
The ideal candidate has hands-on production or pick packing experience, preferably in food packaging. They need to be calm, organised and comfortable juggling priorities. Disability experience is not essential.

Other daily tasks are to:

• Motivate and mentor a diverse workforce, fostering a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with WHS policies and procedures.
• Supervise and guide employees that we support to meet commercial outcomes.
• Promote positive behaviour and a collaborative team culture.
• Conduct skills training, assessments, and performance appraisals in collaboration with Employment Coaches.
• Ensure production meets customer expectations regarding quality, delivery timeframes and business requirements.

What you can bring to the team

• Previous experience in a production environment with a proven ability to coordinate projects and delegate activities to a diverse team.
• Experience in disability support will be highly regarded but not essential
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills to ensure clear and concise information is presented to the team.

• Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card), National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work), and an open Driver’s License.
