Job summary

Sharp and Carter is seeking a Plant Supervisor to own the day shift on a chemical manufacturing site. You will lead 15–20 production staff, manage shift readiness, safety, and daily production delivery across four work centres.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will drive planning, labour and material readiness, uphold a zero-harm safety culture, and pursue continuous improvement in productivity and quality.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a supervisory role within industrial manufacturing.
• Experience leading production teams to deliver a daily schedule.
• Strong focus on safety in regulated or hazardous environments.
• Good planning across labour, materials and equipment.
• Diligence with production data systems and ERP accuracy.
• Available for early-start day shift (on-site by 5:45am).
• Forklift licence and first-aid certification an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-shift crew of 15–20 people across four work centres.

• Deliver and communicate the daily Production Planning Schedule.

The Opportunity

This is a genuine opportunity to lead on the floor of a chemical manufacturing site. As Plant Supervisor, you'll own the day-to-day rhythm of the day shift - shift readiness, safety, production delivery and team leadership - across a site with lifted operating standards and a strong improvement agenda.

This company is a blending and liquid filling site, specialising in the production of regulated industrial products across coolants, water-based, industrial fills and small pack fills. Backed by international private equity and delivering consistent growth, the business is entering an exciting phase of investment and operational improvement.

The Role

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you'll lead day-shift production and operating staff, plus agency labour, across the site's four work centres. Key focus areas include:

• Lead a day shift crew of 15-20 people.
• Leading shift readiness - onsite ahead of shift start, structured handover, team ready to produce by 6am
• Delivering the daily Production Planning Schedule, escalating and communicating any changes immediately
• Planning ahead to ensure labour, materials and equipment are ready for the next day's production
• Coordinating output across Coolants, Water Based, Industrial Fills and Small Pack Fills
• Championing a zero-harm safety culture in a Dangerous Goods and flammable-chemicals environment, including hazardous-area awareness and permit-to-work/hot-work controls
• Owning Manufacturing Order (MO) data accuracy and addressing errors at the source
• Driving continuous improvement in productivity, quality and standards
• Maintaining housekeeping and site presentation standards across production areas

About You

• 3-5 years' experience in a similar supervisory role within an industrial manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated front-line leadership - leading, coordinating and developing production teams to deliver a daily schedule
• Strong safety focus and understanding of working within a regulated or hazardous manufacturing setting
• Sound planning and organisational skills across labour, materials and equipment
• Discipline with production and data systems, including MO/ERP accuracy
• Available and reliable for an early-start day shift (onsite by 5:45am)
• Experience in industrial chemicals or a Dangerous Goods/flammable-chemicals environment highly regarded
• Current forklift licence and first-aid certification an advantage (support available if not currently held)
