Job summary

Fuse Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Day Shift Supervisor to lead a 20-person production team in a well-established manufacturing business. You will oversee daily operations, drive safety, quality and operational performance, and partner with the Production Manager to meet targets.

You will monitor performance, coordinate workflows and promote continuous improvement across the floor, with emphasis on safety and efficient changeovers.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in manufacturing/production.
• Strong understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and SMED for quick changeovers.
• Experience using ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Solid mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting production issues.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of approximately 20 production employees.
• Ensure production schedules are achieved safely, efficiently and to quality standards.
• Monitor workflow and identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
• Lead machine changeovers and support process improvements.
• Investigate production issues using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain production documentation and ERP transactions.
• Work closely with maintenance, quality and production teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Promote a positive, safety-focused culture on the manufacturing floor.
• This role is primarily a Day Shift position; however, flexibility is required to support operational requirements when needed.

Day Shift Supervisor | Manufacturing

Are you an experienced production leader looking to take the next step in your career? We're seeking a hands-on Day Shift Supervisor to join a well-established manufacturing business, leading a production team and driving safety, quality and operational performance.

Working closely with the Production Manager, you'll oversee daily operations, ensure production targets are met, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity across the manufacturing floor.

The Role

As the Day Shift Supervisor, you'll lead a team of approximately 20 production employees, providing day-to-day guidance, coaching and support while maintaining a safe and productive workplace.

You will be responsible for monitoring production performance, coordinating workflows, resolving operational issues and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• Previous experience leading teams within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, SMED (quick changeovers) and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience using ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Sound mechanical aptitude and confidence troubleshooting production issues.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to make decisions, prioritise tasks and lead by example in a fast-paced environment.

Experience within packaging, plastics, food manufacturing or other automated production environments will be highly regarded.
