Job summary

JINYANG TECH AUSTRALIA PTY LTD – Maryborough QLD is seeking a hands-on production team leader to guide a small production crew, perform daily coordination, and provide on-the-job guidance. The role will train and guide less-experienced workers, monitor work progress, and report production, quality or safety issues to management.

This is a long-term position for a practical working team leader, not an office-based supervisor.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing/engineering or similar industrial setting.
• Able to perform hands-on production work after site-specific training and authorisation.
• Experience leading a small shop-floor team is preferred.
• Train workers, reinforce work instructions and provide clear day-to-day direction.
• Good safety awareness and ability to report quality, equipment or production concerns.
• Reliable, hands-on and able to work effectively with both management and production employees.
• Forklift High Risk Work Licence (LF) - preferred.
• Crane High Risk Work Licence - preferred.
• Dogging or Rigging licence/ticket - advantageous, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery and equipment per work instructions and authorisation.
• Undertake general manufacturing, assembly, material handling and workshop activities as required.
• Allocate and coordinate daily tasks for approximately three production workers and monitor progress.
• Provide practical on-the-job training and guidance to team members.
• Ensure team follows work instructions, safety procedures, housekeeping and supervisor directions.
• Monitor workmanship and report defects, non-conformances, or delays.
• Operate forklift for material movement as authorised.
• Assist with crane/lifting operations and operate crane equipment where authorised.
• Coordinate safe movement and staging of materials for production.
• Escalate safety, quality, staffing and production issues to management.

To perform hands-on production and material-handling activities while providing day-to-day work coordination, on-the-job guidance and practical support to a small production team. The role will train and guide less-experienced workers, monitor work progress, and report production, quality or safety issues to management. Key responsibilities

• Operate production machinery and equipment in accordance with approved work instructions, training and internal authorisation
• Undertake general manufacturing, assembly, material handling and workshop activities as required
• Allocate and coordinate daily tasks for approximately three production workers and monitor work progress
• Provide practical on-the-job training, instruction and guidance to team members, including new or less-experienced workers
• Ensure team members follow approved work instructions, safe work procedures, housekeeping requirements and supervisor directions
• Monitor basic workmanship and quality requirements and promptly report defects, non-conformances, equipment issues or production delays
• Operate a forklift for material movement, loading, unloading and positioning where authorised
• Assist with crane/lifting operations and operate relevant crane equipment only where the required High Risk Work Licence and site authorisation are held
• Coordinate safe movement and staging of materials and components for production
• Escalate safety, quality, staffing and production issues to the responsible manager/supervisor

About you

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, rail, metalworking or similar industrial environment
• Able to perform hands-on production work and safely operate relevant machinery after site-specific training and authorisation
• Experience leading, guiding or coordinating a small shop-floor team is preferred
• Able to train workers in practical tasks, reinforce work instructions and provide clear day-to-day direction
• Good safety awareness and ability to report quality, equipment or production concerns
• Reliable, hands-on and able to work effectively with both management and production employees
• Valid Forklift High Risk Work Licence (LF) - preferred
• Relevant Crane High Risk Work Licence - preferred
• Dogging or Rigging licence/ticket - advantageous, but not essential
• Relevant trade qualification or practical industry experience - desirable but not mandatory
