Job summary

Reporting to the Head of Plant Supply Chain Management, the Production Planner plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production

Qualifications

• Qualification or demonstrated experience production planning, materials planning, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with SAP (essential), including production planning, materials management, inventory control, and reporting.
• Experience with SAP S4/Hana would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of MRP principles and Lean Manufacturing practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, assess impacts and implement effective solutions.
• High attention to detail with strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Well-developed communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the business.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• A collaborative team-oriented mindset supported by strong work ethic, accountability and a commitment to achieving business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating, directing and monitoring production schedules including directing the delivery of materials and release of orders to Manufacturing, and maintaining proper costs throughout the order lifecycle.
• Responsibility for the materials management function relating to the planning, control, and distribution of materials and products to meet company objectives and customer requirements.
• Overseeing the progress of orders from release through to shipment.
• Advising management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
• Implementing, reviewing, recommending and/or performing timely corrective actions required for all rejected material.
