Job summary

Mapei is opening a new state‑of‑the‑art Melbourne plant in Truganina, creating growth opportunities for Production Operators. Based in Melbourne, you will safely operate plant equipment, manage material handling, and contribute to production targets and quality standards.

The role requires a forklift license, comfort with PLC systems, and teamwork in a fast-paced production environment. You will work with loaders, packaging lines, and maintenance practices to ensure smooth operations and safety

Qualifications

• Experience with stock, warehousing and processing of raw materials.
• Forklift license is compulsory for this position.
• Ability to follow procedures and work instructions safely.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage storage of raw materials for batching.
• Load the mixer with the raw materials.
• Operate the plant PLC system to produce products as scheduled.
• Operate the packaging line and ensure product quality.
• Operate the forklift supplying raw materials and moving finished goods.
• Operate the small packaging line.
• Operate both the 1k and 10K liquid plants.
• Quality Compliance: follow the Quality Management System.

About the Opportunity

Based in Melbourne, the Production Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing plant equipment, packaging lines, and material handling processes. Operators are expected to develop competency across all assigned plant roles and contribute to the delivery of production targets, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage storage of raw materials for batching
• Load the mixer with the raw materials
• Operate the plant PLC system to produce products as set out within the production schedule
• Operate the packaging line and ensure product quality and performance standards are met
• Operate the forklift supplying raw material to the plant, storing incoming raw materials and finished goods
• Operate the small packaging line
• Operate both the 1k and 10K liquid plants
• Quality Compliance: perform all tasks in line with our Quality Management System

You are a reliable and organised professional who thrives in a fast-paced production environment. You take pride in accuracy and understand the importance of attention to detail in maintaining smooth operations. You're someone who enjoys working as part of a team while being able to work independently when required.

What You Bring

• Familiarity with industrial environments and the ability to safely operate plant and equipment
• Experience with stock, warehousing and the processing of raw materials
• An ability to understand the operation of machinery, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, and the basic maintenance requirements of industrial equipment
• A forklift license is compulsory for this position
• Ability to follow all procedures and work instructions competently
• Supervisory skills not necessary, but an advantage
