Job summary

BKH Fabrication, part of the BKH Contractors Group, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to keep fabrication jobs on track from drawings to delivery. You will work closely with management and the workshop team to plan, coordinate, and deliver quality results.

Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, reviewing drawings, material take-offs, and sourcing steel and consumables. You will liaise with suppliers and ensure compliance with welding, AS/NZS standards, and project cost

Qualifications

• At least 4 years in structural steel fabrication, with supervisory/production experience.
• Experience in temporary works, formwork or heavy construction is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, fabrication sequencing and Australian standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule production to meet project and site delivery dates.
• Prioritise workload with workshop team to keep production moving.
• Review fabrication drawings and resolve technical issues with engineers/drafters.
• Do material take-offs, estimates and orders for steel, consumables and bought parts.
• Liaise with local/overseas suppliers and subcontractors for galvanising, laser, machining and coatings.
• Coordinate welding inspections, WPS/WPQR, NDT, ITPs and AS/NZS compliance.
• Track job costs, hours and progress; report to management.
• Support WHS on the workshop floor and maintain plant/equipment.
• Coordinate dispatch with site teams and the yard.
