Job summary

Prydes Confectionery Solutions Pty Ltd in Victoria, Australia, is seeking a Production Manager to lead daily confectionery manufacturing operations. You will plan production schedules, manage resources and ensure product quality and on-time delivery.

Reporting to senior management, you will supervise teams, optimise processes, monitor safety and compliance, control costs, and drive continuous improvement across the plant.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Manufacturing, Production Management, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field.
• Relevant experience in production management, preferably within food processing, confectionery manufacturing or a similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, manufacturing processes, quality assurance and workplace safety.
• Experience supervising production teams, managing resources and improving operational efficiency.
• Good organisational, leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene procedures and manufacturing compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and oversee daily confectionery manufacturing operations to meet targets and customer requirements.
• Develop and manage production schedules based on orders, materials, staffing levels and capacity.
• Supervise production teams and coordinate daily activities to maintain efficient workflows and consistent product quality.
• Monitor availability of raw materials, ingredients, packaging and equipment to minimise delays.
• Establish and maintain quality control procedures to meet specifications, food safety standards and industry rules.
• Review manufacturing processes and introduce improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
• Coordinate with purchasing, warehousing and distribution to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Monitor costs, labour and equipment usage and assist in budgeting and forecasts.
• Ensure manufacturing activities comply with health, safety and hygiene requirements.
• Oversee maintenance and readiness of production machinery and coordinate repairs to reduce downtime.
• Train and evaluate staff to uphold performance standards and teamwork.
• Prepare and review production reports and monitor KPIs for efficiency and quality.
