Job summary

Prydes Confectionery Solutions Pty Ltd in Knoxfield, VIC seeks an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily confectionery manufacturing operations, develop schedules based on customer orders, available materials and capacity, and drive efficient workflows to meet production targets.

The role leads production teams, monitors quality control, ensures food safety compliance, manages resources and budgets, and coordinates with purchasing, warehousing and distribution to deliver finished goods

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Manufacturing, Production Management or engineering.
• Experience in food processing or confectionery manufacturing.
• Knowledge of production planning, processes, QA and safety.
• Experience supervising production teams and resources.
• Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and oversee daily confectionery manufacturing operations to meet production targets and customer requirements.
• Develop and manage production schedules based on orders, materials, staffing and capacity.
• Supervise production teams and coordinate daily activities for efficient workflows and consistent product quality.
• Monitor the availability and use of raw materials, packaging supplies and equipment to minimise delays.
• Establish and maintain quality control procedures to meet specifications, food safety requirements and industry standards.
• Review manufacturing processes and introduce improvements to increase productivity and reduce wastage.
• Coordinate with purchasing, warehousing and distribution to ensure timely delivery of finished goods.
• Monitor production costs, labour requirements and equipment utilisation, and assist budgeting and forecasts.
• Ensure manufacturing activities comply with health, safety, hygiene, and operating procedures.
• Oversee maintenance and repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
• Train, guide and evaluate production staff to maintain performance and teamwork.
• Prepare and review production reports and KPIs for management updates.
