Job summary

Makinex Renewables is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee production, sourcing, purchasing and distribution across our portfolio. You will work with suppliers, internal stakeholders and contract manufacturers to ensure timely delivery, quality and cost efficiency.

Reporting to the Global Production Manager, you will drive improvements to systems and inventory, manage SAP data, and support capital optimisation across sites in Sydney.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification (mechanical or electrical preferred).
• Experience in production, procurement, sourcing or supply chain.
• Strong understanding of materials selection, manufacturing and QC.
• Advanced Excel and Word skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Strong decision-making and results-driven approach.
• Understanding of quality standards and health & safety.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Experience communicating with Asian suppliers is advantageous.

• Provide backup support to Global Production Manager as required.

With a strong foothold in the hire and rental industry, particularly within the infrastructure space, we are poised for expansion into new market segments.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to join our team. and take responsibility for the effective management of production, sourcing, purchasing and distribution activities across our product portfolio.

Reporting to the Global Production Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring products are delivered on time, meet quality expectations and are sourced efficiently. You'll work closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders and our contract manufacturing partners, while identifying opportunities to improve systems, reduce costs and optimise inventory.

This role requires regular travel between our Artarmon and Frenchs Forest sites in Sydney.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage production, purchasing, sourcing and distribution across the product portfolio.
• Oversee supplier relationships, purchase orders, logistics and order fulfilment.
• Coordinate product assembly and ensure quality, safety and delivery standards are met.
• Manage inventory, stock levels and SAP purchasing data.
• Identify cost-reduction and procurement opportunities while maintaining quality and supply reliability.
• Drive improvements to production systems, processes and SAP efficiencies.
• Monitor production and purchasing metrics and provide accurate reporting.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure timely delivery.
• Support working capital optimisation through inventory management and supplier payment terms.
• Provide backup support to the Global Production Manager as required.

ABOUT YOU

You will be an organised, commercially minded and solutions-focused professional who enjoys working across production, procurement and supply chain. To be considered for this role, you must possess:

• A qualification in Engineering or a related discipline, preferably mechanical or electrical engineering
• Experience in production, procurement, sourcing or supply chain management
• Strong technical understanding of materials selection, manufacturing and quality control processes
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
• Experience working with ERP systems, ideally SAP
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
• An understanding of quality standards and health and safety requirements
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Experience communicating with Asian suppliers would be advantageous
