Job summary

UOW Pulse on the Wollongong campus seeks a hands-on kitchen support role to work with the food and beverage team, ensuring high-quality food production and service.

You will wash dishes, assist with basic prep, stock supplies, deliver food across campus and uphold food safety standards, with a cooperative, independent work style.

This is a Monday–Friday operation with occasional weekend events; UOW Pulse offers Pulse Perks membership discounts and opportunities to learn and grow on campus.

• Strong understanding of safe food handling and personal hygiene practices.

About you:

This is a hands‑on operational role, where you will be required to work alongside the food and beverage team to ensure consistent, high-quality standards are met within our food production services. In addition, you will need to have the following experience and skills:

• Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen work areas
• Assisting with basic food preparation
• Stocking and rotating supplies
• Delivering food to designated areas across campus
• Supporting the team to maintain food safety and hygiene standards

You are a team player who is comfortable working independently when required. You understand the importance of food safety, cleanliness and teamwork in a production kitchen environment. You will have:

• A strong understanding of safe food handling and personal hygiene practices
• Experience cleaning commercial kitchens and equipment
• The flexibility to work a varied roster
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
