Job summary

PZ Cussons is seeking a Product Development Technologist in Cremorne, Melbourne for a 12-month parental leave contract. The role focuses on developing Home and Personal Care products for ANZ, coordinating technical requirements and collaborating with Marketing, Supply Chain and vendors.

Reporting to the Head of R&D, you will contribute to innovative product concepts and ensure timely delivery. The position offers hybrid working arrangements, a mix of lab work and office collaboration, and

Qualifications

• Experience working in FMCG or cleaning industry advantageous.
• Ability to design and run experiments independently in a laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with stability testing and claims substantiation methods.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical requirements to deliver products in Home and Personal Care categories for ANZ.
• Drive new product innovation and core product renovation balancing speed, cost and quality.
• Collaborate with Asia Regional Supply Chain and vendors to ensure on-time delivery of projects.
• Provide technical solutions during ideation sessions with Marketing and support Commercial teams.
• Manage all technical documentation, briefs, product specifications and dossiers.

As a Product Development Technologist, you’ll play a key role in shaping how our products show up for consumers across major retail partners. You will contribute to cross-functional project teams developing Home and Personal Care products for the Australian and New Zealand markets. Reporting directly to the Head of R&D you will make a make a highly valued contribution to deliver results that matter.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Coordinating the technical requirements to deliver a range of products within our homecare and personal care categories.
• Drive new product innovation and core product renovation, balancing speed, cost, and quality.
• Working with the Asia Regional Supply Chain and technical teams, the internal and external vendor base to ensure that projects are delivered on time
• Participate in ideation sessions with Marketing to provide technical solutions for new product concepts, providing key technical support to Marketing and Commercial
• Managing all aspects of technical documentation, sourcing briefs, product specifications, line standards and collating product dossiers.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Degree in Business, Chemistry/Science or related
• Experience of surfactants; industrial chemicals, with a strong understanding of raw materials and formulation chemistry
• Previous hands-on lab experience; ability to design and run experiments independently
• Proficiency with stability testing, claims substantiation methodologies, and manufacturing processes
• Minimum three years’ experience in an FMCG organisation or Cleaning Industry (retail)
• Project Management - Ability to work cross functionally towards shared goal with a variety of personalities.
