Altissimo Consultancy Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical or Industrial Design Engineer in Sydney to lead the exterior shell design of an innovative product. The role focuses on SolidWorks-driven 3D CAD modeling, concept Sketching, and creating photorealistic renders for production readiness.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in product design consultancy, experience integrating electronic components, and strong communication skills to collaborate with startups and technical teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a consultancy or similar environment.
• Industrial product design experience.
• Experience incorporating electronic components into product designs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Industrial Design Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop concept sketches and technical product layouts.
• Create 3D CAD models of new designs in SolidWorks.

Mechanial or Industrial Design Engineering

This product development consultancy has been working with the best minds in Sydney to bring to life this outstanding product. Most of the technical side of the design is done, and what my client needs is someone with excellent SolidWorks skills to do the outside “shell” of this product.

If you are passionate about design and have the ability to solve design problems, are persistent and can work with scientific minds, then you will enjoy this challenge. You need to have Industrial product design experience; you will ideally come from an architectural/Industrial design background or consumer products background.

The Position

• Develop concept sketches and technical product layouts
• Create 3D CAD models of new designs in SolidWorks
• Create photorealistic 3D product renders.
• Prepare products for 3D printing
• Develop production bill of materials & cost estimates.

Technical skills & experience

• At least 5+ years of experience in a consultancy or similar environment
• Ideation, sketching, concept of how the product would look
• Understanding of market trends
• Experience incorporating electronic components into product designs
• A passion for startups and new technologies
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as in Mechanical or Industrial Design Engineering.
