Merri-bek City Council is seeking a part-time Procurement Officer (0.8 FTE, 35 hours per week) to join the Financial Services Procurement team. Based in Melbourne, this 2-year maximum term role commences February 2027 and offers hybrid work options and pro rata salary.

You will guide purchasing processes, onboarding, supplier verification and card controls, maintain records, support audits, and help strengthen controls while delivering excellent staff and supplier service.

Formación

• Practical knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier verification and purchasing-card controls.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining vendor records.
• Confidence using purchasing and financial systems and Excel for data maintenance and reporting.
• Clear communication and customer service skills for staff and suppliers.
• Good judgement to resolve routine enquiries and identify compliance risks.
