Job summary

Baxter is seeking a proactive Procurement Specialist to support manufacturing operations across Australia and New Zealand, driving sourcing and supplier management for MRO and Capex. You will partner with stakeholders to deliver value, manage RFQs and contracts, and lead cost-saving initiatives across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Business, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in procurement, sourcing or category management.
• Experience across MRO, Facilities Management, Engineering Services or Capex procurement.
• Strong commercial, negotiation and contract management capability.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and engaging cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with internal stakeholders to implement category strategies and deliver value.
• Manage RFQs, RFIs and RFPs from market engagement through supplier selection and award.
• Conduct spend analysis, supplier benchmarking and market assessments.
• Lead the commercial review, negotiation, execution and ongoing management of supplier contracts.
• Manage supplier relationships and drive improvements in cost, quality, service and delivery.
• Provide regular category, project pipeline and savings updates to stakeholders.
• Maintain sourcing pipeline records and expected benefits.
• Support annual savings plans by identifying sourcing opportunities.
• Partner with suppliers and internal teams to identify innovation and continuous improvement.

The role Are you looking to be part of a procurement transformation at one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of hospital supplies? Baxter is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Procurement Specialist who is passionate about creating value and supporting our mission to save and sustain lives. In this role, you will support Baxter’s manufacturing operations across Australia and New Zealand, leading sourcing and supplier management activities across MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) and Capital Expenditure (Capex) categories. You will also partner with stakeholders to support operational requirements and strategic capital projects across multiple manufacturing sites. Reporting to the Senior Lead Specialist, Manufacturing Operations within Baxter’s Indirect Procurement team, you will play an important role in driving procurement excellence and delivering best-value outcomes across your portfolio. With a focus on cost, quality, service, and supplier performance, you will manage end-to-end sourcing initiatives while collaborating closely with stakeholders across functions, business units, and locations to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Partner with internal stakeholders to implement category strategies and deliver short-, medium- and long-term value pipeline goals.
• Manage RFQs, RFIs and RFPs from market engagement through supplier selection and award.
• Conduct spend analysis, supplier benchmarking and market assessments to identify value opportunities.
• Lead the commercial review, negotiation, execution and ongoing management of supplier contracts, including MSAs, SOWs, Engineering Services Agreements, Supply Agreements, Amendments and NDAs.
• Manage supplier relationships and drive improvements in cost, quality, service and delivery.
• Provide regular category, project pipeline and savings updates to stakeholders, category leads and senior management.
• Maintain sourcing pipeline records, including project status, expected benefits and savings outcomes.
• Support annual savings plans by identifying and delivering sourcing, supplier and process improvement opportunities.
• Partner with suppliers and internal teams to identify innovation, market insights and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with Baxter policies and governance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Degree qualification in Business, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in procurement, sourcing or category management.
• Experience across MRO, Facilities Management, Engineering Services or Capex procurement.
• Strong commercial, negotiation and contract management capability.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and engaging cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to think strategically and translate opportunities into practical sourcing outcomes.
• Confidence working in a matrix, multicultural and virtual team environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities and sourcing initiatives.
• Experience in a multinational organization and exposure to MSAs, SOWs, Amendments and NDAs will be highly regarded.
• Experience using procurement systems such as Coupa, Ariba, JDE or similar platforms will be highly regarded.
