Job summary

The NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is seeking a Procurement Officer in Parramatta for a temporary full-time role (35 hours/week) up to 15 Jul 2027, with potential extension. Salary ranges from $116,981 to $129,492 plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

You will lead end-to-end ICT sourcing, advise on policy and governance, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver compliant, value-for-money procurement outcomes in a large, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end strategic sourcing and procurement activities, particularly within the ICT category.
• Strong knowledge of NSW Government procurement legislation, policies, frameworks, and compliance requirements.
• Experience developing sourcing strategies and procurement documentation across ICT, Professional Services, and Goods & Services categories.
• Proven ability to build and manage effective stakeholder relationships, influence outcomes, and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering compliant and value-for-money procurement outcomes.

The Strategic Procurement team within the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) are currently seeking to appoint Procurement Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a high-performing team, with an immediate start available for the successful candidate following completion of the assessment process.

About the role

As a Procurement Officer you will report to the Procurement Business Partner and will provide procurement experience and assist stakeholders to plan, source, and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet organisational and business objectives.

You will manage and deliver a quality and efficient procurement service, identifying, mitigating, and escalating risks throughout the procurement process. The role will provide guidance and advice on procurement policy, process, and governance requirements to various stakeholder. This is a dynamic, fast paced environment offering the opportunity to learn and grow in a large complex environment.

About You

You are an experienced procurement professional with expertise in ICT sourcing and procurement. You have a strong understanding of NSW Government procurement frameworks and is skilled in developing sourcing strategies, managing complex procurements, and delivering compliant, value-for-money outcomes. With strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, you build effective relationships and work collaboratively to achieve procurement objectives.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
