Job summary

Roads ACT is seeking a motivated procurement professional to lead a range of procurement activities and collaborate with stakeholders across Roads ACT. You will contribute to the delivery of infrastructure maintenance and improvement programs that shape Canberra's road and transport networks.

The role welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds with experience in procurement, contract management, project delivery, infrastructure, engineering, or related fields.

Qualifications

  • Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia.
  • Hold a relevant building degree.
  • Have significant building or Infrastructure knowledge and/or project and contract management experience.

Job description

Details: Join Roads ACT and help shape the future of Canberra's road and transport infrastructure. We are looking for a motivated procurement professional who enjoys working collaboratively to deliver meaningful outcomes for the community. In this role, you will lead a variety of procurement activities, work with stakeholders across Roads ACT, and contribute to the successful delivery of infrastructure maintenance and improvement programs.

We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds who can demonstrate experience in procurement, contract management, project delivery, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or related fields. If you have experience managing complex projects, working with contracts, or navigating procurement processes, we would love to hear from you. Knowledge of procurement frameworks and probity principles will be beneficial, and support will be provided to help you succeed in the role.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

  • Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or
  • Hold a relevant building degree; or
  • Have significant building or Infrastructure knowledge and/or project and contract management experience.
  • Visa holders are eligible to apply for both permanent and temporary roles. Those with eligible visas may be considered for permanent employment, while individuals with temporary residency or limited-duration visas may be offered permanent employment for the duration of their visas.
  • Driver’s licence (C Class) is essential.
  • Knowledge/interest in Roads ACT’s functions is desirable.
  • Qualification in procurement/project management/contract management is essential.
  • Demonstrated infrastructure procurement experience is essential.
  • Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering and/or related technical disciplines is desirable.
  • Relevant infrastructure related industry experience is highly desirable.
  • This position does not require a pre-employment medical.
  • This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.

Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of three months with the possibility of extension up to six months. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times

Note: Under the ACTPS employment framework you may be placed in another role where required for the efficient administration of the service.

Where an offer of employment is for a fixed-term period, any related temporary contracts within the Territory will be issued in compliance with the requirements and applicable exceptions outlined in the Fair Work Act.
