Job summary

Gamuda Australia is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead the procurement strategy for the EDMR road upgrade in Western Sydney. You will work with project leadership, Commercial, Engineering and Construction teams, and key suppliers to source materials, services and subcontract packages.

You will drive end-to-end procurement activities, manage schedules and budgets, negotiate favourable terms, and mentor the project procurement team to deliver value and compliance across the programme.

This key infrastructure upgrade will deliver critical road, civil, structural, and utility improvements across Western Sydney, significantly boosting connectivity and network capacity throughout the region.

About the Role

As a Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in developing and delivering the procurement strategy for this major road upgrade. Working closely with project leadership, Commercial, Engineering and Construction teams, as well as key suppliers and subcontractors, you will lead procurement activities to support the successful delivery of the project.

You will be responsible for driving effective procurement outcomes across the project, ensuring key materials, services and subcontract packages are strategically sourced, competitively procured and delivered in line with project cost, quality and programme requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Develop and implement project procurement strategies aligned with project scope, programme, budget and delivery requirements.
• Lead end-to-end procurement activities, including sourcing, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and award of materials, equipment, services and subcontract packages.
• Develop and manage procurement schedules, ensuring critical procurement activities align with key project and construction milestones.
• Lead market engagement, tender processes and commercial negotiations to achieve competitive pricing and favourable contractual outcomes.
• Establish and manage project supply chains, building strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors and monitoring performance against cost, quality and programme requirements.
• Work closely with Commercial, Engineering and Construction teams to identify procurement opportunities, manage interfaces and support successful project delivery.
• Monitor procurement budgets, commitments and cost-saving opportunities, while identifying and mitigating supply chain and procurement risks.
• Lead, mentor and develop the project procurement team, ensuring effective delivery and strong collaboration across the project.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with project governance, contractual requirements, company policies and relevant legislation, while supporting local content and sustainability objectives.

Your Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience in procurement management within infrastructure, construction, engineering or major projects.
• Strong knowledge of procurement, contract management and commercial principles.
• Proven experience leading strategic sourcing, tendering and supplier/subcontractor negotiations.
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities, manage risk and drive value.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience leading and developing procurement teams in complex, fast-paced project environments.
• Experience within major roads or transport infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
