Pharmacy One Burnie is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee purchasing, supplier relationships and contract negotiations to ensure timely supply of goods and services for the business.

You will develop procurement strategies, manage supplier performance, monitor costs and risks, and lead a small team in Burnie, Tasmania, focused on value, quality and continuity of supply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in a related field or Equivalent Work experience.
  • 3 years of Full Time Relevant experience in the similar field
  • Strong supplier negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Good understanding of procurement, cost control and supplier management.
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage procurement activities independently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies, purchasing procedures and supply arrangements to support the operational requirements of the business.
  • Plan and manage the procurement of products, materials, equipment, services and other supplies required for ongoing business operations.
  • Identify, assess and select suitable suppliers and service providers based on price, quality, reliability, availability and delivery requirements.
  • Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing arrangements, purchasing terms, payment conditions and delivery schedules to achieve commercially favourable outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and service providers and regularly review their performance against agreed requirements.
  • Determine purchasing requirements in consultation with management and relevant staff and ensure goods and services are procured within required timeframes.
  • Monitor purchasing levels, operational requirements and supply patterns to forecast future procurement needs and maintain continuity of supply.
  • Review quotations, supplier proposals and purchasing options and make recommendations based on cost, quality, availability and overall commercial value.
  • Develop and maintain procurement and purchasing systems for recording purchase orders, supplier agreements, quotations, invoices, deliveries and other procurement transactions.
  • Monitor procurement expenditure and supplier pricing and identify opportunities to reduce purchasing costs and improve procurement efficiency.
  • Ensure purchased goods and services meet required specifications, quality standards, contractual conditions and delivery requirements.
  • Identify and manage procurement risks, including supplier delays, supply shortages, price increases and service disruptions, and develop alternative sourcing arrangements where required.
  • Prepare procurement reports, expenditure analysis and supplier performance reports and provide recommendations to management.
  • Coordinate and oversee staff involved in purchasing, supplier liaison, procurement administration and maintenance of purchasing records.
