Job summary

Moree Plains Shire Council is seeking an Inventory Purchasing Officer to maintain stock levels, process purchases, and reconcile accounts within the Depot Services division at the Tycannah Street Works Depot, Moree and surrounds.

The role involves heavy manual handling, input of plant running sheets, and ensuring compliance with Council procurement policies and WHS standards. A Certificate III in Procurement and forklift certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Procurement or similar industry discipline and experience in procurement or retail services.
• Proven computer literacy with experience using computerised stock systems or purchasing systems.
• A self-motivated approach with the ability to work effectively in a team and unsupervised.
• A current Class C Drivers Licence and a General Construction Induction White Card.
• A High Risk Work Licence for Forklift operation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the stock register and ensure paperwork is completed correctly.
• Raise purchase orders and perform account reconciliation.
• Undertake heavy manual handling tasks and assist with stock control.
• Input daily and weekly plant running sheets and monitor wastage.
• Ensure work areas meet Work Health and Safety standards.
