Job summary

The University of Sydney is seeking a Senior Manager - Procurement Assurance to shape assurance, governance and continuous improvement across procurement. You will lead risk-based activities, provide authoritative advice, and partner with senior leaders to drive compliant, efficient buying for the University community.

You will steer governance, audit and reporting and build capability through focused training while advancing systems and processes for a simpler, more effective stakeholder

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Significant experience leading procurement compliance, assurance, audit or risk management in a large organisation.
• Strong expertise in governance, policy, controls and assurance.
• Track record of building trusted partnerships and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision making.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the University's procurement assurance framework using risk-based and data-driven approaches.
• Provide authoritative advice on governance, policy, controls and assurance to senior stakeholders.
• Lead responses to procurement audits, reviews and assurance activities and oversee remediation for compliance.
• Lead governance reporting and secretariat services for procurement bodies with high-quality analyses.
• Build procurement capability through targeted training, guidance and awareness initiatives.
• Turn insight into action by leading improvement and change to simplify procurement and strengthen controls.
