Job summary

NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd operates Pajingo Gold Mine in North Queensland. We are seeking an experienced Processing Superintendent to lead day-to-day processing operations and join our Processing Team.

The role requires safety focus, leadership of four shift supervisors plus support crews, and collaboration with maintenance and metallurgy, with opportunities to advance.

Qualifications

• The role requires a strong safety focus with relevant training and certificates.
• Qualifications in metallurgy, chemical engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience in gold processing operations is essential.
• Strong knowledge of processing circuits and equipment; able to troubleshoot and optimise.
• Experience leading teams at supervisor or superintendent level.
• Understands throughput, recovery and plant availability.
• Collaborates with maintenance on shutdowns and upgrades.
• Experience with tailings management and environmental requirements.
• Demonstrates accountable leadership and high standards.
• Experience with heavy mobile machinery is desirable.
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
• Solid skills across the Microsoft Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team including 4 shift supervisors, a gold room supervisor and utility crew.
• Set expectations and build a crew to run the plant safely and consistently.
• Lead day-to-day operations of the processing operation.
• Coordinate tasks during shutdowns and keep the plant running normally.
• Drive improvements for safety and operational efficiency.
• Identify plant issues and develop solutions with the team.
• Participate in planning and execution of plant upgrades and shutdowns.
• Provide input into annual capital and operational budgeting.

This role is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of our processing operation alongside maintenance and metallurgy.

What you'll be doing

• Leading a team of 4 shift supervisors plus a gold room supervisor and utility crew
• Setting expectations and building a crew that can run the plant safely and consistently
• Leading day-to-day operations of our processing operation
• Coordinating operational tasks during shutdowns and keeping the plant running in normal operation
• Pushing improvements to increase safety and/or operational efficiency.
• Understanding plant issues and coming up with solutions with the people involved
• Being part of the planning and execution of plant upgrades and shutdowns
• Providing input into the annual Capital and Operational budget process

What we're looking for

• A strong commitment to safety and training
• Tertiary qualifications in metallurgy, chemical engineering or a related field preferred
• Experience in gold processing operations
• Strong knowledge of processing circuits and equipment, including troubleshooting and optimisation.
• A background leading teams at supervisor or superintendent level
• A clear understanding of throughput, recovery and plant availability
• Experience working with maintenance personnel on shutdowns and upgrade workli>
• Confidence managing tailings and working within site environmental requirements
• A leadership style that holds people accountable and maintains expected standards
• Prior experience with an operation involving heavy mobile machinery (forklifts, loaders, skid steer, excavators) is desirable
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills
• Solid skills across the Microsoft Suite
