Lynas Rare Earths invites applications for a Process Operator at the Kalgoorlie Rare Earth Processing Facility (REPF). The role supports the processing team in handling bulk materials, equipment cleaning, and plant housekeeping within a safety-focused environment.

The position is a residential, 5 on/2 off or 4 on/3 off, 10-hour day shift. Immediate start is possible subject to pre-employment checks and approvals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe day-to-day operation of the processing plant.
• Assist with preparation of MREC containers for loading and dispatch.
• Handle and move bulk materials and concentrate deliveries.
• Perform pre-start checks, refueling and inspections.
• Carry out hosing and general housekeeping duties.
• Support shutdown activities and resource sourcing as needed.
• Contribute to safe work procedures development and hazard control.

Lynas Rare Earths has an opportunity for Process Operators to join our day services team at the Kalgoorlie Rare Earth Processing Facility (REPF).

The Kalgoorlie REPF is now a key strategic platform for critical mineral production, blending pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical process in an Australian first, mineral processing plant.

The Opportunity:

This day-services role reports to the Production Coordinator and will be responsible for assisting the processing team with routine standard operational tasks, focusing predominantly on the handling and movement of bulk materials in the processing plant, hosing and cleaning of equipment, housekeeping, reagents handling, water treatment, and product filtration across the site.

This role is offered on a Kalgoorlie-Goldfields residential basis-only, working a 5 on / 2 off, 4 on / 3 off, 10 hour day shift – with the potential to adjust, depending on business requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

The safe day-to-day operation of the processing plant including:

• Filter cloth assembly and change-outs, managing filter cloth consumables and restocking of equipment.
• Assist with the preparation of MREC containers for loading, dispatch including paperwork and data entry.
• Handling and movement of bulk materials – concentrate and general deliveries.
• Pre-starts on equipment, routine refueling and inspections.
• Undertaking hosing and other general housekeeping activities.
• PM and Operational cleaning.
• Provide support to the Production Coordinator with shutdown activities including the sourcing of equipment and other resources.
• Contributing to the development of safe working procedures.
• Ensure a safe working environment is maintained with the identification, reporting of, and control of hazards.

Required skills and experience:

• Relevant experience in a processing plant environment – experience in lithium or base metals mineral processing, cracking and leaching, filter press technology is highly desirable.
• Nationally accredited competency of fork lift, skid steer, crane, loader and telehandler.
• Unwavering approach to safety
• WA unencumbered C class drivers’ license or above
• Must reside within the Goldfields region for our residential operation
• Available for an immediate commencement (pending pre-employment vetting and approvals).
