Bulla Dairy Foods, a long‑standing Australian dairy brand, is seeking a Full‑Time Permanent Process Controller – Cheesemakers to join our Colac operations. You will operate a cheese production process, uphold quality, safety, and continuous improvement, and work across shifts in a hands‑on manufacturing environment.

The role requires dairy production experience, strong manual dexterity, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team while meeting strict safety and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Previous cheesemaking or dairy production experience preferred.
• Manual dexterity and physical capability for manual handling tasks.
• Ability to work independently or in a team under routine supervision.
• Ability to identify faults or hazards and initiate corrective actions.
• Ability to interpret and apply verbal and written work instructions.
• Demonstrated learning capability.
• Ability to provide basic training to other individuals.
• Ability to operate across different work activities.
• Availability for standard hours, shift work, overtime and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Observe processes and initiate corrective actions.
• Assist in setup, dismantling, cleaning and reassembly of machinery.
• Transfer products to and from processes or storage.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.
• Wear PPE and follow safety instructions.
• Record production and test data accurately.
• Assist in training with coordinators or trainers.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Be flexible to work in other departments during planned downtime.

We currently have exciting opportunities for Full-Time Permanent Process Controller - Cheesemakers to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Team Lead - Process, you will be responsible for operating a complete product process that requires specialised training and a sound knowledge of product specifications. This hands‑on role places you at the heart of our cheese production operation, where you will work closely with a dedicated team to deliver quality products, maintain high standards, and drive continuous improvement every day at our Bulla Dairy Foods manufacturing site in Colac.

Please note, a pre‑employment medical including a drug & alcohol screen will be required as part of the recruitment process

Hours (rotating roster):

• Morning 6am-2pm
• Afternoon 2pm-10pm
• Overnight 10pm-6am

Pay:

• Rates from $31 per hour with increases after 1 & 3 months
• Additional penalty rates and allowances including 15% for afternoon shift and 30% for night shift apply!

What's the Scoop?

• Observe processes and initiate appropriate corrective actions
• Participate in the routine setup, dismantling, cleaning and reassembly of machine and equipment
• Transfer products to and from processes or storage
• Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment
• Use equipment as per safety instructions, and wear protective clothing and equipment as required
• Collect and identify samples
• Record information appropriate to the production and testing processes
• Assist in the provision of training in conjunction with coordinators/trainers
• Undertake training appropriate to the role, as well as personal and group development
• Perform other duties up to the level of this classification as directed.
• Promote Safety, Quality and Process within the business.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities as required.
• Continuously improve own capabilities through demonstrated commitment to personal development
• Required to work in other departments in the factory during planned downtime

What You'll Bring:

• Previous cheesemaking or dairy production experience is preferred but not essential.
• Manual dexterity and physical capability to perform the full range of manual handling tasks
• Ability to work effectively either individually or in a team environment under routine supervision
• Ability to identify faults or hazards, and initiate corrective actions
• Ability to accurately interpret and apply verbal and written work instructions
• Demonstrated learning capability
• Ability to provide basic training to other individuals
• Ability to operate effectively over different work activities
• Availability for work - standard hour, shift work, overtime, weekend work, etc. (as appropriate)
• Ability to comply with standards in relation to Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, hygiene, quality assurance and conduct
• Personal cleanliness and hygiene
