Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Process Assistant in Australia to support Middle Mile operations. You will manage labor allocation, lead meetings, assign tasks and coordinate communications with internal and external stakeholders.

The role includes variable shift patterns of four days on, three days off, including weekends. Responsibilities include tracking hours, coaching staff, ensuring SOP compliance, and driving safety and operational excellence initiatives to meet daily production goals.

Qualifications

• Can lift up to 49 pounds and stand for long shifts; able to push/pull/squat/bend/reach.
• Experience leading teams in fast-moving environments.
• Background in manufacturing/distribution/warehousing/large retail.
• Strong written and verbal communication to coach and assist teammates.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Availability to work 38 hours+ per week, with overtime as required.

Responsibilities

Process Assistants form an integral part of Amazon's Middle Mile operations, contributing significantly to the team's dynamic growth. Process Assistants are responsible for daily management of department duties including: allocating labor, leading meetings, assigning job duties, providing work direction and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

Please note the shift pattern is variable, based on 4 days on and 3 days off including weekends.

Key job responsibilities

• Track and report labor hours
• Occasionally, assist with production duties, train associates and verify SOP (standard operating procedure) compliance
• Ensure successful area performance through tracking and reporting metrics
• Independently assess all aspects of associate work performance and provide timely and detailed feedback
• Participate in Operational Excellence initiatives
• Maintain a full understanding of workflow and daily production goals
• Review and update SOP’s as required
• Ensure work areas remain clean and are properly equipped
• Identify and address safety hazards within the work area, and participate in safety initiatives
• Coach associates on ways to work safely at all times
• Ensure all job injuries are reported timely in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Provide leave coverage for Shift Managers

Qualifications

• Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
• Previous experience leading teams
• Experience working within a similar field (manufacturing/distribution/warehousing/large retail)
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to coach, train and assist team members
• Availability to work 38 hours+/week, and overtime as required
• Experience working with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Leadership experience directly managing others
• Comfortable in lifting up to 16 kilos, stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach, all with or without reasonable accommodation
• Experience with performance metrics and lean process improvement
