Job summary

SCT Logistics in NSW seeks a hands-on Workplace Health & Safety Coordinator to support Sugar Operations across the Northern Rivers (Broadwater, Harwood, Condong). This on-site role partners with leaders to foster a proactive safety culture, improve risk management and ensure regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will have WHS qualifications, experience in safety roles, and the ability to travel between three sites, with strong communication and analytical skills to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Experience in Workplace Health & Safety roles is required.
• Understanding of National heavy vehicle regulations and chain of responsibility is preferred.
• Flexibility in working times across sites.
• Advanced computer skills (MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Promote a proactive safety culture across Sugar operations.
• Provide visible safety leadership to employees, contractors and supervisors.
• Support leaders in fulfilling WHS obligations and accountabilities.
• Encourage workforce participation in safety initiatives and hazard reporting.
• Assist with safety training, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
• Support incident, near-miss, hazard reporting and investigations.
• Facilitate risk assessments and control measure implementation.
• Assist in development and review of SWPs, SOPs and JSAs.
• Participate in audits (ISO 45001, NHVAS, HACCP).
