Jacobs is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer/ Technical Lead to head major water and wastewater projects in Adelaide or Melbourne. You will provide expert design, lead multidisciplinary teams, and drive project delivery while pursuing new work with support from major water authorities across Australia and New Zealand.

The role emphasizes technical excellence, safety in design, and leadership across geographic locations, with a hybrid work policy to balance site, office, and remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent (Ceng or PE).
• Around 15+ years experience in water or wastewater civil engineering.
• Strong background in water industry consultancy, Civil Design, construction or delivery.
• Proven track record of technical leadership for successful delivery of water infrastructure projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of safety in design and Australian water industry standards.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple engineering or adjacent disciplines across geographic locations.
• Ability to mentor early or mid career professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex water/wastewater infrastructure projects with design and delivery leadership.
• Provide expert consultancy and detailed design engineering services.
• Collaborate with design teams, commercial and project management to win work.
• Mentor and develop junior staff across multiple locations.
