Job summary

Fyfe is expanding its Power & Connection capability and seeks a Principal Grid Connections Engineer to lead and shape the team, delivering complex substation, renewable energy, and storage projects.

You will set technical direction, ensure high-quality outcomes, and support growth of the sustainable energy portfolio while collaborating with clients and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering is required.
• 10 years' grid connection project experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of R0, R1, R2 connection studies.
• Proficiency in PSSE, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, EMTP-RV is required.
• Strong leadership, direction setting and mentoring ability.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive design from advisory, costing, feasibilities, and approvals for major developments.
• Mentor a team of engineers to develop capability and technical excellence.
• Oversee project delivery to meet quality, safety, cost and schedule.

Principal/Team Lead Power Systems Engineer

With a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, Fyfe is expanding its Power & Connection capability and is seeking a highly experienced Principal Grid Connections Engineerto play a key role inleading andshaping our growing team to deliverhigh-quality technical outcomes.

The Opportunity

This is a senior leadership position suited to an engineer with specialistexpertisein grid connection studies from concept through to execution.

You will be instrumental in delivering complex substation, renewable energy and storageprojects, advancing technical standards, and supporting the continued growth of our sustainable energy portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drivedesign frominitial advisory, costing, feasibility studies, development approvals andimpact assessments acrossmajor developments including Industrial Facilities, Datacentres, Hydrogen Projects, Solar/BESS Renewable Developments
• Mentor a team of engineers, fostering capability development and technical excellence
• Oversee project delivery to ensure outcomes meet quality, safety, cost, and schedule requirements
• Apply innovative andadvanced engineering principles to solve complex problems and deliver innovative, fit-for-purpose solutions
• Contribute to the development of best practices, standards, and technical frameworks within the business
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, network service providers, and project partners

Requirements

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering; Chartered, RPEQ, or RPEV status desirable
• Minimum 10 years' experience in grid connection projects with strong knowledge of R0, R1, and R2 connection studies
• Deep understanding of TNSP, DNSP, and AEMO requirements and proficiency in PSSE, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, EMTP-RV
• Motivated to build, lead, and mentor a team while setting technical direction and standards
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills with a collaborative mindset
• Proven track record in technical leadership and project delivery
• Ability to operate at a strategic level while remaining hands-on technically
