Commonwealth Bank of Australia is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to set engineering direction across a technology domain and shape architecture and platform investments. You will guide build-versus-reuse decisions and drive scalable, shared services.

You will lead and mentor across teams, define patterns for resilience, security and responsible AI, and turn strategy into practical, hands‑on solutions within a highly regulated environment.

• Broad, full‑stack software engineering experience with influence across multiple teams.
• Experience designing and operating production services and APIs at scale.
• Proven ability to set engineering direction and drive reuse and architecture decisions.
