Job summary

Atlassian is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Scientist to join our Central AI team. The role focuses on developing underlying infrastructure, data pipelines, and advanced models to accelerate AI across Atlassian products.

This is a distributed-first position; interviews and onboarding are virtual and candidates can work from any location with a legal entity. You will guide ML engineers, design architectures, and drive experimentation.

Responsibilities

• As a Principal Machine Learning engineer, you will drive the development and implementation of the cutting edge machine learning algorithms, training sophisticated models, collaborating with product, engineering, and analytics teams, to build the AI functionalities into each Atlassian products and services.
• Your daily responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of tasks such as designing system and model architectures, conducting rigorous experimentation and model evaluations, and providing guidance to emerging ML engineers.
