Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team in Adelaide. You will lead mechanical design across multiple sectors, delivering robust technical solutions and developing standard workflows.

The role requires a degree in mechanical engineering with 8+ years local experience, strong client relationship skills, and a drive for innovative, sustainable outcomes. Domestic relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant local experience preferred.
• High level of design creativity with robust concepts and clear design intent.
• Commercially aware with ability to lead multidisciplinary projects and build client relationships.
• Desire to work in a multidisciplinary team and drive innovation and excellence.
• CPEng or ability to attain is preferred.
• Defence clearance or Defence experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical delivery of mechanical designs, drawings, specifications and calculations.
• Support building projects across sectors including arts, culture, aviation, defence, transport and life sciences.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and consultants to drive innovative and sustainable design solutions.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of exciting projects, our Building Services team in Adelaideis looking for aSenior Mechanical Engineerto join our multidisciplinary team of passionate professionals. In this role, you’ll:

• Support on building projectsacross sectors including arts & culture, aviation, defence, transport, civic, and life sciences.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, architects, and consultants to driveinnovative, sustainable design solutions.
• Technical delivery of mechanical designs, including drawings, specifications and calculations.
• Assist in the development of standardised mechanical workflows.
• Actively participate in client and group meetings, shaping project strategies and building long-term partnerships.
• Contribute to a workplace culture that valuescollaboration, creativity, and purpose-driven work.

About You

• A degree in Mechanical engineering.
• At least 8+ yrs of relevant experience based locally preferred
• Possess a high level of design creativity with the ability to develop technically robust structural concepts whilst maintaining a strong focus on the design intent.
• Commercially aware with the ability to successfully lead structural and multidisciplinary projects through all phases whilst managing and developing strong client relationships.
• Desire to work within a multidisciplinary team, driving innovation and excellence, contributing to workplace culture.
• CPEng or an ability to attain preferred.
• Ability to attain Defence Clearance / Defence experience preferred.
