Job summary

Cbite Recruit is seeking 2 Principal Java/Bespoke Software Engineers (EL2 Equivalent) to support NEXUS, a platform for our Federal Government client, in Canberra with hybrid work options.

The role focuses on enterprise Java development, AWS cloud integrations, and Oracle database solutions, with on-call duties and a 12-month initial contract. Canberra-based hybrid model, with potential travel to Sydney.

Qualifications

• 8+ years Java development experience
• Proficiency in Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate
• Experience with REST and SOAP services
• AWS experience including EC2, Lambda, API Gateway
• Oracle DB, PL/SQL and data modelling
• Frontend tech: ReactJS, HTML, CSS
• CI/CD using Jenkins, Git, Maven and Ant
• Strong enterprise application design skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications
• Support NEXUS cloud and backend systems
• Design and implement AWS-based integrations
• Build and maintain Oracle database solutions
• Produce technical documentation and design artefacts
• Participate in software releases and operational support activities
