Job summary

CYOS Solutions is seeking an experienced Java-focused integration/Back-end Engineer to support AMSA's NEXUS life-critical system in Canberra. You will work in a small team of Java/.NET SMEs on cloud and back-end Java/AWS components, including Oracle DB and REST/SOAP services.

The role requires expert Java development, OpenAPI/REST/SOAP, SQL/Oracle, and experience with AWS. Hybrid working arrangements apply, with 12-month contract and extensions, and a 24x7 on-call expectation.

Qualifications

• Essential criteria: SFIA Level 6 and proficiency enabling leadership of complex software projects.
• 8+ years Java experience with enterprise patterns, JPA/Hibernate; JEE and reactive programming advantageous.
• Experience with Java Web services: SOAP/REST, OpenAPI/XSD, XML/JSON, Spring/SpringBoot.
• Unix/Linux, Bash, Maven, CI, Unit and System Integration testing.
• Ability to design data models, SQL/Oracle, and develop enterprise back-end components.
• Experience with AWS: EC2, Lambdas, API Gateway, S3/SQS, CloudFormation.

Responsibilities

• Develop enterprise-grade software using Java and Oracle technologies.
• Develop/maintain web UI using ReactJS, CSS and HTML.
• Design data models and implement with Oracle DB.
• Perform CRUD with ORM frameworks in Java.
• Produce design artefacts and specifications.
• Create RESTful/OpenAPI specs and SOAP WSDLs.
• Maintain DevOps workflows with Jenkins, Git, Maven/Ant.
• Coordinate releases and provide support to leadership.
