Job summary

IT Alliance Australia in Canberra is seeking a Principal Java/Bespoke Software Engineer (Developer) for a Federal Government client. You will lead Java development across enterprise systems, applying design patterns and modern frameworks to deliver robust software.

The role requires at least 8 years of Java experience, expertise in Spring/SpringBoot, REST/SOAP web services, and strong testing and CI practices.

One of our Federal Government clients is looking for Principal Java/Bespoke Software Engineer (Developer) in Canberra.

We are looking for the following Skills/Experience:

• At least 8 years Java experience, enterprise design patterns, JPA, Hibernate ORM, JEE an advantage, reactive programming an advantage.
• Java Web service development, SOAP and REST APIs, OpenAPI/XSD Schemas, XML/JSON, Spring/SpringBoot.
• Maven lifecycle management, Continuous Integration, Unit and System Integration testing.
• Strong commitment to software engineering processes and a proven ability to develop robust and maintainable software.
• Implement and maintain automated testing. Provide feedback on implementation and design aspects as required from other areas.
