Job summary

IT Alliance in Canberra is seeking a Principal Java/Bespoke Software Engineer (Developer) for a Federal Government client. You will lead design and delivery of enterprise Java solutions, leveraging modern frameworks and best practices.

The role requires extensive hands-on coding, system design, and delivery of robust software in a complex government environment, with emphasis on scalable REST/SOAP services and automated testing. On-site Canberra location.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years Java experience with enterprise design patterns.
• Experience with Java Web services: SOAP/REST, OpenAPI, XML/JSON.
• Experience with Maven lifecycle management, CI, unit and system integration testing.
• Demonstrated ability to develop robust, maintainable software and implement automated testing.

Principal Java/Bespoke Software Engineer (Developer)

One of our Federal Government clients is looking for Principal Java/Bespoke Software Engineer (Developer) in Canberra.

We are looking for the following Skills/Experience:

• At least 8 years Java experience, enterprise design patterns, JPA, Hibernate ORM, JEE an advantage, reactive programming an advantage.
• Java Web service development, SOAP and REST APIs, OpenAPI/XSD Schemas, XML/JSON, Spring/SpringBoot.
• Maven lifecycle management, Continuous Integration, Unit and System Integration testing.
• Strong commitment to software engineering processes and a proven ability to develop robust and maintainable software.
• Implement and maintain automated testing. Provide feedback on implementation and design aspects as required from other areas.
