Job summary

Lightsource bp is seeking a Principal Environmental Planner for our Sydney-based in-house Planning Team. You will lead all planning aspects of project lifecycles—from site selection through planning approvals—engaging local authorities and stakeholders while collaborating with business development, design, construction, asset management and finance teams.

The role requires 7+ years in planning (in-house or consultancy), strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a solid understanding of

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in planning, in-house or consultancy.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local planning systems across Australian jurisdictions.
• Commercial acumen and entrepreneurial values.
• Experience in ground mount solar PV, wind and/or other renewable energy/infrastructure projects, including BESS.
• Solid understanding of the project development life cycle from early stage to COD.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning aspects across the project life cycle, from site selection to COD.
• Prepare planning applications and liaise with local authorities.
• Engage stakeholders and coordinate cross-functional teams.
