Job summary

Emmbr in Melbourne is seeking a Principal Security Engineer to lead the security engineering uplift across cloud and infrastructure. You will be the senior technical voice, working with the CISO and technology leadership to shape long-term security direction, balancing risk and commercial priorities in a large enterprise.

The role focuses on Azure security, IaC with Terraform/Bicep, incident response, and driving secure patterns while partnering with technology teams to deliver ongoing uplift.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of senior cyber security engineering experience.
• Strong Azure security, networking, AD and Entra ID knowledge.
• Hands-on IaC experience using Terraform or similar (e.g., Bicep).
• Strong SIEM, PAM, firewall/WAF, vulnerability and endpoint security knowledge.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders in complex enterprise environments.
• Melbourne-based and Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident; sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Own and collaborate on the technical direction across security engineering and cloud security.
• Strengthen security controls across Azure, infrastructure, identity and applications.
• Drive secure Azure patterns including Private Link, segmentation and identity controls.
• Embed Infrastructure as Code to deliver repeatable and auditable security patterns.
• Lead technical response to complex and high-impact security incidents.
• Partner with technology teams to prioritise and deliver sustainable security uplift.
