What we are looking for:

Billigence is seeking an experienced Principal/Lead Consultant to drive our Cloud Data Practice. We are looking for a hands-on leader who can blend technical expertise with strategic leadership to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients, mentor our team, and help grow our practice.

We are seeking a proactive and strategic thinker who is passionate about both technology and people. You should be a problem-solver at heart, with a desire to build a team and a practice that delivers cutting-edge solutions. Your ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value is critical.

Key Responsibilities

This role is structured around a 60-20-20 split to ensure a balanced focus on delivery, people, and growth.

60% Project Delivery

• Architect & Design: Lead the design and implementation of modern data platforms for our blue-chip customers, providing strategic thought leadership and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• End-to-End Leadership: Own the discovery, design, and build phases of projects. Create detailed project timelines and manage stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
• Trusted Advisor: Act as a key technical leader and trusted advisor to clients, guiding them on best practices, technology selection, and data strategy.
• Stakeholder Management: Proactively engage and manage relationships with senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and project success.

20% Practice & Partner Development

• Mentorship: Actively mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning within the practice.
• Capability Development: Develop and implement internal training programs and resources to build team skills and expertise in emerging technologies.
• Partner Engagement: Serve as a key liaison with our strategic software partners. Stay current on new functionality and product roadmaps, attend industry events, and represent the company's capabilities.
• Solution Scoping: Lead client engagement initiatives and workshops to define project scope, requirements, and technical solutions.
• RFP Responses: Support the sales team by contributing to RFP responses, providing technical validation, and developing compelling solution narratives.
• Technical Expertise: Provide expert technical advice and support during the sales cycle, building credibility and confidence with prospective clients.

Ideal Skills & Experience:

• Deep Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms, specifically Snowflake.
• Data Architecture: Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining robust and scalable data platforms.
• Data Modelling: Strong proficiency in advanced data modelling, data integration (ETL/ELT), and data warehousing principles.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a track record of successfully engaging and influencing senior business and technical leaders.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team of consultants and data professionals.
• Highly desirable: dbt, understanding of various data platforms (Redshift, databricks, Teradata, Hadoop etc) and data application development.
