Autodesk, Inc. is seeking a Principal Business Consultant for construction to join our APAC Consulting Services team.

You will leverage construction knowledge and Autodesk tools to shape digital strategies, assess processes, justify value, and prepare implementations that deliver measurable business results. Reporting to the ANZ Consulting Services manager, this hybrid role allows remote or onsite work in Sydney, NSW.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or architecture/engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years hands-on experience in the construction industry with digital solutions.
  • Experience in documents, project, quality, safety management, handover, scheduling and cost management.
  • Excellent communication including workshops, meetings, and impactful presentations.
  • Ability to drive decisions and close issues.
  • Ability to work with diverse technical, sales and project delivery teams and explain complex topics simply.
  • Willingness to travel 30% including international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Autodesk's largest customers on construction solutions (document/data management, field workflows, handover).
  • Analyze, improve and implement processes and workflows.
  • Lead consulting engagements from discovery to value documentation.
  • Contribute to task estimation and scoping with customers.
  • Apply change management to Autodesk deployments.
  • Collaborate with internal account teams and customers on programs.
  • Be a trusted advisor and stay updated on tech trends.
  • Represent Autodesk at conferences, in whitepapers and blogs.
  • Onboarding and identity verification as needed.

Position Overview

The Autodesk Technical Advisory consulting organization is looking for an accomplished and enthusiastic individual to join our APAC Consulting Services team as a Principal Business Consultant for construction. As a Principal Business Consultant, you will use your construction industry and technical knowledge to help our customers put innovative design, engineering, and construction solutions into real world practice.

You will work directly with our most strategic customers to develop their digital and data strategies, define criteria for success, assess current processes and project performance, create business value justifications for initiatives, and prepare to implement solutions that produce meaningful business results. Providing these services will ensure customers are maximizing the value from their investment in Autodesk technologies and ensuring the success of transformational changes to their business. Reporting to the Consulting Services manager for ANZ, this is a hybrid role where you can work remote or onsite at an Autodesk office.

Responsibilities
  • Work with Autodesk's largest customers on innovative construction solutions related to document management, data management, field workflows, handover/ turnover and more
  • Analysis, improvement and implementation of processes and workflows
  • Lead consulting engagements with customers, including discovery process to understand business challenges and requirements and document the proposed value during those engagements
  • Contribute to task estimation and scoping including scope clarification with customers
  • Apply change management knowledge to the deployment of Autodesk solutions
  • Collaborate with internal account teams and customers on how Autodesk solutions fit into broader programs of work
  • Be a 'trusted advisor' to the customer
  • Keep updated with technology trends affecting customers
  • Represent Autodesk solutions at conferences, in whitepapers and blogs
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or architecture / engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in the construction industry, with a focus on the development and delivery of digital solutions
  • Experience of the following construction industry processes such as Document Management / Project Management / Quality Management / Safety Management / Handover / Scheduling / Cost Management
  • Excellent communication skills including experience conducting workshops, facilitating meetings, and delivering impactful presentations
  • Ability to drive decisions and closure on issues
  • Proven ability to work with diverse technical, sales, and project delivery teams including breaking down complex topics into a common language
  • Willingness to travel 30% of the time, including international travel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Autodesk product expertise (Forma, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360)
  • Knowledge of competitor solutions in the construction industry
  • Advanced experience developing and implementing workflow processes between architects, designers, engineers, contractors, and owners
  • Experience using Autodesk products such as Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and InfraWorks
  • Experience driving change at the enterprise level
  • Familiarity with ISO 19650
  • An interest and experience in AI, data strategy, and data management
